Effect of Dental Implant Micro-thread Designs on Stress Distribution In Bone-Implant Interface

چکیده

Dental implants have been used in replacing broken or damaged teeth. There are failures after the operation was done due to lack of primary stability. Through improving design dental implant, stability can be achieved. The aim study is analyse stress distribution at bone-implant interface different micro-thread designs. Five types two-dimension shapes implant embedded bone cube modeled ANSYS APDL R3. microthread Straight, Square, V-shaped, Buttress and Reverse Buttress. models meshed using element Quad 8-node 183. 106.066N horizontal force vertical applied on each model find out pattern peak Von Mises stress. found that changed bone. located first micro-thread. Cortical took large portion compared cancellous Square has best pattern.

Numerical study of effect of elastomeric stress absorbers on stress reduction in bone-dental implant interface

OBJECTIVE This paper focused on optimal stress distribution in the mandibular bone surrounding a dental implant and is devoted to the development of a modified Osteoplant® implant type in order to minimize stress concentration in the bone-implant interface. MATERIAL AND METHODS This study investigated 0.4 mm thick layers of two elastomeric stress barriers incorporated into the dental implant ...

Dental Implant Design and Biological Effects on Bone-Implant Interface

Although dental implants have become a predictable aspect of tooth replacement in prosthodontic treatment [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6], failures of up to 10% are still encountered. Furthermore these failures have been more associated with “soft” bone quality [7], 1985) such as encountered in the maxillary posterior area [8, 9, 10, 11, 12]. In a review article by Esposito et al [13], bone quality and volu...

Influence of three different implant thread designs on stress distribution: A three-dimensional finite element analysis

PURPOSE Clinical success of implant prosthodontics is dependent in part upon the type of implant thread design. The selection of implant thread design plays an important role in the outcome of the treatment. This study was undertaken to evaluate the pattern of stress distribution using a finite element analysis; hence, the area which would be bearing maximum load for a given design would be arr...

Bone remodelling at the interface with implant – an effect of implant surface micro-structure

Good integration of metallic implant as for example endoprosthesis with a bone determines its stability and durability. There are many biological, structural and mechanical factors affecting interactions between bone tissue and a surface of prosthesis. Among the mechanical parameters local stress and strain distributions play a crucial role. The loading conditions, shape and mechanical characte...

Influence of cortical bone quality on stress distribution in bone around dental implant.

Using finite element method (FEM), this study sought to investigate how the thickness and Young's modulus of cortical bone influenced stress distribution in bone surrounding a dental implant. The finite element implant-bone model consisted of a titanium abutment, a titanium fixture, a gold alloy retaining screw, cancellous bone, and cortical bone. The results showed that von Mises equivalent st...
